MetroPCS uses CDMA technology and most Sony phones don't use CDMA... Any sony phone I've ever come across needs a SIM Card...CDMA phones don't use SIM cards. That right there should tell you about the obstacles. Now, I'm sure you can go get an unlocked Sony phone, and take it to MetroPCS dealer and have them flash it and get it to work on their network. But I'd be surprised if you'd get full functionality out of it. You also run the risk of frying the phone, although this risk is slight.

It's like having a prepaid phone. They give you unlimited talk, text and internet for about $40 a month. They'll send you a text when your bill is due, and then you either pay over the phone or go to a MetroPCS store and pay. this is not possible no matter what anyone tells you, straight talk will only accept phones purchased from wal mart with their serial number attached to the phone there is no jailbreaking the phones or flashing them to get them to work.
