It is a bad idea to change the jewellery in a new piercing for at least a month, sometimes two. This will slow healing time and yes, probably hurt. If you are having problems with the jewellery (too long, too short, otherwise uncomfortable) then return to your body piercer and ask their advice before changing anything.

It may be uncomfortable or slightly painful to change your tongue piercing the next day. It is best to wait for at least 4-6 weeks before changing the jewelry to allow the piercing to fully heal and minimize the risk of infection or irritation. If you experience pain or difficulty changing the jewelry, it is recommended to seek help from a professional piercer.

No Having any form of lump or bump next to a closed piercing indicates there is some form of issue with the piercing. Which one hurts more getting your tongue pierced or getting a tattoo?

The sensation of piercing varies from place to place, the tongue when pierced doesn't hurt so much as actually more a sensation of pressure. The nipples are again another sensation (keeping in mind we are talking about piercings done by a professional body piercer with skill and experience) completely different from tongue piercing. The sensation of pain is reduced by the client's mind set* (* do you want the piercing or don't you, if you want something it's much easier than when you have reservations about doing it ) and the skill of the piercer.
