the value of a Winchester 20 gauge model 1400 and the history? the value of a Winchester 20 gauge model 1400 and the history?
Yes the Winchester 140 is a cheaper varient of the model 1400. The only real difference is the type of material used in the storck and foregrip. A 1400 has Walnut or Synthetic stocks avalible. Where as a 140 was only avalible in a hardwood usually birch stock with no checkering and a walnut stain. The word Ranger on the barrel is normal the Model 120 pump and the 140 auto were both in the ranger series. The 140's are getting quite rare and not shown in many articles because Winchester only made 5000 of them in 12,20,16 and 10 gauge. Also the 1400 barrel will interchange with this fine Winchester. zmopar1@aol.com

Yes. The gas ports on the 1400 barrel will fill up with dirt/powder residue but it will work fine. I have been using an cut down 1400 barrel on my 1300 for many years.
The Winchester model 1400 MK-II was made from 1968-1972.
I paid $200 for mine, although the tip was cut off the end.
