There are many reasons that could happen. You should see a doctor. You may be put on a Birth Control pill to help regulate your periods. That is fairly common.

I had a 14 day cycle that got worse when my doctor tried to put me on the pill to regulate my periods. I later found out i had a prolactinoma. What other symptoms do you have?
could be endometriosis
No. Speak to your doctor. This pill might not be for you but there are others. Or maybe the injection would work better.
A heavy painful period with clots.
That's not a 'normal' menstrual flow. I suggest you see your doctor just to be sure there's nothing medically wrong.
It is unlikely - take a test anyway
No. Since periods are regular you would not have low haemoglobin (FYI: Im a girl too and have it heavy too dont worry) Ask your mom too and let her know you want to know this stuff.
Usually your period stops during a bath unless you are having especially heavy periods.
Cause you ask about it on Answers.com
no every kind of highheels are the same
Periods are supposed to occur every 28 days. if yours occurs every 14 days, I would see a gynocologist.
Sorry to say that i think it does. I am going though the same thing at the moment and I have done before tooI would like to add to this- For several months I had been having longer, heavier, clotting and painful periods. I finally went and had an ultrasound at the advice of my OB/GYN and it turned out to be a fibroid/ polyp on my uterine wall. I had to have surgery (hysteroscopy and D&C) to have it removed and I have had no problems since. I know you are trying to avoid going to the doctor but I am SOOOO glad I did. I went from debilitating cramps and heavy clotting to practically normal periods in one day surgery. It's not cheap (surgery never is) but it was worth every penny to me.
In my case it took one day, but not sure if this would happen for every individual.
Hypothyroidism can cause irregular periods. If you are 44 years old it can also be the beginnings of menopause. It would be best to discuss it with your doctor.
