because boys/guys are quite lazy and don't like long-detailed sentences...or maybe because he is caught in a game or doing something else so you might as well just wait for another time to talk to him...so try to ask questions or say things that he'll have to think up a respond with a little more effort

There could be several reasons why a guy might respond to texts with short answers. He may be busy or preoccupied, not know what to say, or simply prefer concise communication. It's best to communicate directly with him to understand his communication style better.
