Wifi stands for wireless fidelity. Wifi is a name given to all wifi enabled devices that can wirelessly connect to the internet if they fall in the range of wifi or wireless routers. Wifi can also be used in different devices to connect to a virtual ad-hoc network wirelessly.

Devices include laptops, desktops with wifi cards, cell phones and even advanced music players, portable media players, etc.

Wi-fi is useful because if you are out somewhere with your iPhone, iPodTouch, iPad, etc, and you happen to think of a question you would like to Google, or email to your friends, then Wi-fi helps you do so.
