Salves were brought to America because the Americans needed more people to do their work. The Africans were not very intelligent people so they were told to do as the master said or they will be abused maybe even killed.
Slaves were broght to Amnerica for the same reason they were brought to many other countries in the past. Industrial work. When indentured servents came less and less, they needed somebody to help, and the thought of slaves who did everything and didn't need to be set free, or paid was ideal at the time.
