sounds like you need a carb repair kit, my auger is a jiffy model 30 and was doing the same thing this year. We bought a cheap carb kit on eBay for 12 bucks, some spray carb cleaner and took it apart. Once we replaced a few parts and cleaned it, it was purring like a kitten. We didn't replace all the gaskets and everything, just what needed to be replaced. If your auger is idling out while running simply push your prime button lightly to keep it running as your using it. Taking apart the carb is fairly easy, I recommend using a digital camera and taking pictures as you go so if you run into a " confused moment " you can look at your pictures to see where you screwed up or where something should sit or go like a spring or such, but if you have small engine knowledge you should be all set

A hard boot - is starting up the computer from 'cold' - ie - switching it on at the mains etc. A soft boot - is re-starting an already running machine - ie - pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL together.
Jiffy bags are hard to recycle because they are made of different types of material. The outside of the bag is a standard kraft paper, but the inside is plastic material. They should not be recycled unless you take apart the different materials first.
there are 2 screw operations on the top of your carb setup, uncover the screws and adjust to your liking, I don't recommend messing with something that is working already, but if your idling hard and need an adjustment you need to turn those screws to your setting, release the screws first, then slowly screw the screw back down, your gonna feel when it hits in place, then you turn your screw to your desired placement counterclockwise.
iS IT FUEL INJECTED OR DOES IT HAVE CARB? MAYBE A TUNE UP IS NEEDED?

Most of the time a diesel has a hard time starting when its cool. When they have a hard time starting when hot, it is usually caused by the fuel running back into the tank. Check for a cracked fuel filter housing or a cracked low pressure fuel line. It is possible you have the wrong fuel filter. Install a top quality name brand filter like Wiks or Baldwin that has an anti bleed back valve in the filter.
Certain tools are preferred and required to do home plumbing repair. Liquid Drano is a product out there and it is very thick and hard to use, but it is safe. The best equipment to have would be a sing auger, and a toilet auger.
It does not hurt because you are not running hard enough. You have to exert yourself.
check fuel hose and make sure bulb in the line is tight if not replace line and bulb
