She may just like the taste of salty food, but if she's eating neat salt it may be worth seeing a doctor, just in case. Eating 'odd' foods can be a sign of some form of vitamin or mineral deficiency, which is worth checking out. Also, growing children need a well balanced diet, including a few junk foods - there was a case a a few years ago of a child on an incredibly healthy diet, who would go to the supermarket with her parents, head for the dairy isle and eat butter straight from the packet. Turned out that the diet the child was on was far too healthy and too low calorie for her. That kind of thing actually happens quite frequently, which is worth bearing in mind.
