Certain people (religious people) go to church on Christmas Day because Christmas Day is the day when Jesus Christ, son of god was born (or so they say).
As Christians worship Jesus Christ, people go to church & pray and celebrate this time when the lord was born.
This is why we have the Christmas story.
Mary was told by the Angel that she was going to expect a baby on it's way (baby Jesus), and when Jesus was going to be born, there was no room at the Inn so they found a place to stay in a Stable, where the lord was born. The wise men followed the star, as did the sheperds, in order to see baby Jesus.
This is why christians go to church on Christmas Day.
Hope this helped
Merry Christmas

Christmas mass is where you go to church on either Christmas day or Christmas eve. It's a big special thing to churches because Jesus was born on Christmas so the highly religious go to church to celebrate it through worship.
You go to Church on Christmas because you are celebrating the birth of Jesus.
I think that protestants WOULD donate on Christmas....as a birthday gift to Jesus.
