In my expirince with iPods it is either a lemon iPod or if you use Limewire it may be a virus. Also make sure your iPod is off before you leave it, it sorta looks like it is off when the screen is dim.

If your battery is wearing out fast, it's probably because of the settings you have or it could be that your iPod's battery is running out of recharge cycles. Every rechargeable battery has a certain amount of recharge cycles and the more you recharge the battery, the quicker it will go out.

It depends on what you mean by 'fast'. If the battery drains after a day of being off, then you definitely have a faulty battery.

If you know you have a faulty battery, and if you still are within the 1-year warranty, then you can trade the iPod in for a working one.

It could be that your batteryis leaking which isnt good, or because some things use more battery than others. If you're playing a game, the iPod will die very quickly. If you're using the internet, that will also use battery.
