The blood supply to them is slow
it takes weeks to heal bone tissue i believe that cartilage does heal faster i hope i helped you thanks
Mine did.
Cartilage takes longest to heal because it is avascular.
Cartilage. If broken it will not heal by itself.
I'd wait till your lobes are completely or nearly completely healed. Cartilage piercings take longer to heal and if your body is trying to heal your lobes AND cartilage at the same time, it'll take even longer for your cartilage to heal. So, 2-3 mths.
Because bone is much harder than cartilage
The part of the body that generally heals the slowest is the cartilage, as it has a limited blood supply. This means that injuries to cartilage can take longer to heal compared to other tissues in the body. Additionally, cartilage has a lower cell turnover rate, further contributing to its slow healing process.
Connective tissue and cartilage are avascular, meaning that they have no direct supply of blood flow. As such, it takes more time for nutrients and such to diffuse to that area. This is what causes the slower healing process. Some such areas that could be most affected would the be the meniscus of the knee and ligaments of the knee.
When you pierce your cartilage, it is supposed to do a good job of healing. However, there are plenty of people who find that their cartilage piercings heal in a different way - with a keloid, or bump, on the back or front of the piercing.
6-8 wks
Industrials can take up to 6 months to heal due to the reduced circulation in the cartilage.
