He sees money as proof of success
it was important because they needed money it was all about that so they could bank some money and not put too much in their job so if they loose they'll still have some money left.
Yes, they can. Often a creditor will file for an estate so they can collect their money.
Yes! If it is for a good cause. Millionare are pretty smart when it comes to money. They know it is not easy to become a millionare. They worked hard to become one. So, basically millionare would not just let go of money to anyone because they need it for some silly reason. But, if it is for the good cause, I am pretty sure that it will not be hard for then to help out. (This is just my opinion)
I presume it's YEN currently, since Tibet has become a part of China. CORRECTION Its YUAN not YEN. YEN is jap so Chinese don't use it.
You are a bad parent. You should have saved money so that you're child would not have to become an indentured servant in exchange for an education.
He sees this as a status symbol. By having money he proves his worth or so he believes
Time is money.
Scrooge would regret marrying Belle because he prioritized accumulating wealth over their relationship, causing him to neglect her emotionally. Belle recognized that love and happiness were more important to her than material possessions, leading her to leave Scrooge. This regret serves as a catalyst for Scrooge's transformation in "A Christmas Carol."
No he didnt marry. His only love apart from money was Belle who broke off their engagement
Well, Scrooge's girlfriend is Belle. Belle left Scrooge because he was becoming, well, a scrooge, a penny-pincher, a greedy man. I don't believe he actually gets back with her; I think she marries someone else. It's sad.
Yes. It is quite possible that an individual can become 'totally obsessed' and check one's status quite often. It is also possible for an individual to continually check someone else's status.
He'd spent all his life grubbing money, and not only by fair means.
Coal of the time was quite expensive. Scrooge detested expense and would put some coal on his fire in his room and barely a who lump was aloud on Bob Cratchits . Scrooge would prevent Bob using coal by placing the coal scuttle in his room so Bob did not have access to it. This is why Bob is always portrayed as warming his hands on the candle at his desk to keep warm and why Mrs Cratchit hated Scrooge
You have to have a brain to be obsessed with anything...... so anyone obsessed by brains already has a brain.......but it is less likely that you will be obsessed with anything if you have one of those things with which you are obsessed.........so it all begins to seem a little circuitous and ironic.
Scrooge (and Marley, when alive) was a money-lender, charging high rates of interest. He started with very little. From a sign on his building it said Importer of fine goods and china. So he was an importer and then got into money loaning. He probably partnered with Marley as an importer loaning money was less risky and with higher returns.
Scrooge is selfish because he always cares about saving money. Through his adventures he learns that life doesn't always have to be about money. He then gives all his money and gifts to the people who deserve and really need it the most.
Scrooge cared about money so much because he had a fear of being poor and vulnerable, stemming from his difficult childhood of poverty and neglect. He believed that accumulating wealth was the only way to protect himself from experiencing hardship and loneliness again.
