The story talks about Samir who decides to immigrate to America although he does not know English well. But he will go just for his gain of lottery of immigration. Then the two cultures begin to be marginalized .He starts to learn learn English and work as a chef but he begins to repair some electronics. When his manager asks him to repair an old radio because he likes it so much and no one could repair it before, Samir accepts the task and repairs it. This pleases his manager who tells him that he will work as a technician not chef. After that Samir decides to marry then asks his brother in Egypt to search for a bride for him. This means that Samir still keeps his traditions and though he does not see the woman who he will marry, he decides that this is what he wants so that his children will be traditional Egyptians.
