Tattoos and Piercings are methods of self expression and are as unique as the piercing or tattoo. To each one of use a piercing or tattoo has a reason, we get them for our own reasons, the reasons of which are basically no one else's business. Why do you like a specific watch or hair style or clothing for that matter, they are things "you" like. Tattoos are the same even more so than piercings because each tattoo has a meaning to it's wearer. Piercings are a method of self expression and tho others may have the same piercing, each piercing is unique to it's wearer.
you can have piercings and/or tattoos in most any job, but to be respected as a professional it is a good idea to remove your piercings and cover your tattoos while at work
Are they? I thought everyone was unique.
Yes
not sure about tattoos, but he does have snakebites.
Generally speaking, it's not a bad thing to have tattoos or piercings. A lot of people have amazing work done on them for very good reasons. However, certain jobs will discriminate against people with visible tattoos and more extreme piercings. That's not to say these things are bad, but it does mean you should give any tattoo or piercing some serious thought.
Piercings and Tattoos
They shouldn't but at many places they will. Not all piercing and tattoos will effect though, such as women with ear piercings or tattoos that are normally not visable
Went to PF Changs in Indy today and had a waitress with both piercings and tattoos. I thought it was pretty cool they would hire somebody with visible tattoos. =]
This is going to be tough, as most countries still view such things as unprofessional. It's going to be a long time before this changes, I'm afraid. The vast majority of people still associate tattoos and piercings with "low class" people, even though many professionals nowadays do have tatts and piercings. The best way for employees to handle it is just to cover up the tattoos and remove the hardware before work or cover the piercings if possible.
No impact if the employer is cool. Potentially a large impact if they're not. It's all a matter of opinion and totally arbitrary rules. Or, often, they don't even HAVE rules against it but fire people for having piercings or tattoos anyway (or tell them to remove piercings).
Does a bear defecate in the woods?
It's when a group of people start something that everyone wants to do. Like piercings or tattoos
