Men are bizarre creatures. I think its because they've always been raised to provide for the family. Some people take it a little too far and then some don't even care what you do. My ex didn't care what I did because he was usually off cheating on me while he was on family trips in Texas. My boyfriend now, he can be controlling when it come to talking to certain people. If my ex says one word to me or if I say one word to him, he gets highly defensive. He gets controlling then. I honestly don't know why men are controlling, but I think it's just the way their own father's raised them.
