I believe that pride comes into play here. All boys would like to walk out with a beautiful girl. She becomes his prize, his conquest and there is a strong desire to show her off. The girls whose looks are considered to be considered ugly hold little or no attraction to the boys. One has to consider two important facts, the first is that the beautiful girl may turn out to be the bane of the boys life, if she is beautiful to him she will still be as beautiful to others. The second is that the ugly girl may hold within herself all of the beauties of womanhood that are worth holding onto.
I think the word "Hate"is misplaced, perhaps "Dislike" might be more appropriate. Remember the beautiful girl will one day get old and her beauty lost. The ugly girl will hold her inner beauty forever, not all guys are like that however...some dont care about your looks.
