Why do guys act like they do not like you?

They act that way because they are afraid of you and what you might say. Or they may really desire you, but they don't want you to know that they do. They may act this way so that you dont know they like you, because they are afraid of rejection. Perhaps they are around their friends and don't want to be embarrassed. Or maybe they are shy or perhaps just afraid.

My BF told me this after I asked him this question:

1. They are scared if you like them or not.
2. Usually guys are VERY shy and don't like to make the first move.
3. They usually don't know how to tell u in a way where they don't seem to up front
4. I don't know if this is true, but my BF said it anyhow (whether to be flirty or honest but he was blushing when he told me which was super sweet) he said that they may not tell you because they think you are too good for them or whenever they are with you they only like to look in your eyes and see how deep they are.

I'm a guy and my girlfriend always asked me that. Well the reason I "pretend" I don't like her is because she always is bugging me! I love her and stuff but we have been going out fro 9 months and if I want to play Video Games for one hour can you give me a break? Recently I broke up with her and i just realized i still like her and now it hurts inside.

The simplest answer is cause they don't wanna lose you. It's not about being shy. If they tell you they like you and you don't feel the same it'll become awkward between you two (Or so we think). And that just isn't a risk we really want to take. We're weird like that. We'll take physical risks, but not emotional. Grab his hand, you'll know if he likes you then.
