Use and diet determines the sharpness of teeth.
For instance childrens teeth have cuspids which are sharp round blades at the bridge of thetoothwhich aids in cutting through the gum when teething.

Diet: Ancient man had teeth which were all but disease free. What the did suffer frm was extreme wear and tear. In neolithic man the teeth were worn down by use as a tool. In more recent times the use of stone grind stones for flour to make bread introduced grit into the diet which wore the teeth down to stumps.

In modern life ignoring gumdiseaseand tooth decay the wear on teeth is normally related to your age. Teeth once they have achieved their full size do not grown any more so there is no newregrowthto replace wear & tear.

There are studies in genetics which looks at the regrowth of some animals teeth and trying to apply that to human teeth, possibly throughartificialviral changes to the DNA which controls the teeth formation. Also stem cell research is being testedsuccessfullybut it will be decades before these technologies are available to the public/,
