This is a common misconception. Most good looking people are straight I swear. As a gay male I swear all the good looking guys are straight.
But realistically speaking there are more straight males than gay males in the world which means there are undoubtedly more attractive straight males in the world than gay males. However this is not to say gays aren't attractive.
The only real reasoning that would answer your question with any validity is the fact that gay guys spend more time in front of the mirror than their straight counter parts. As far as lesbians are concerned I am unaware. It would be interesting to know.
