Although the concept is great there have been issues reported with the cycling, chambering and ejecting of those safety slugs. They have not been reported to go thru outer walls of a home but at the same time if it were winter or the intruder was wearing heavy clothing then there may not be sufficient penetration. Myself i would stick with hollow points. The same issue about which is best comes into play when is the 9mm better for home defense than the 45? Everything is relative but i will still go with an accurate 45 automatic handgun as my primary home defense weapon loaded with Personal protection rounds.
