You may own a cushion or quilt. Quilting is done by sandwiching some padding between fabric; when this is sewn on it makes it puff out in places.If you buy a strong enough needle, you can use it for scrapbooking etc on paper- this gives a lovely finish!Hope this helps :-)

I think you could buy the covers separately. They were an optional extra, so didn't come with a particular machine. I have a catalogue from the 1970's and it says 'available separately, price £5' !
