the serial # should be on the under left side of the receiver however some of the older browning 22 semi auto takedown rifles say 1914 to i belive it was 1955 may not have a serial no as i own 3 the 22 short has a serial no one of my 22lr has a serial no. but one of my lr has no serial no. Midwest gun works has a list showing the date history of the 22 take down price depends on condition i personaly would not even consider any offer of less than 500.00 for any of mine
