Sometimes, there's running water nearby that can be diverted and made to flow naturally to where humans want it.
Sometimes it can be pumped from a natural body of water like a lake or a river.
Sometimes it's pumped out from a well, which can be drilled to different depths.
Sometimes it's reclaimed water from kitchens sinks, wash basins, things like that which gets used for irrigation.
Sometimes rain water is collected in reservoirs and later used for irrigation.

∙ 12y agoits normal water they just put some kind of chemical in it. The chemical makes the water safe to swim in. So they add that to the pool.

Probabily the ground surrounding your pool if its in-ground. In an above-ground pool they most likely fly into the pool or crawl into it from the sides.
