...a man called Saint Nicholas...he tried to help the poor, especially the ladies of the night. They used to hang their washing out ...their stockings....and he one night of the year would in it place a little bag of money, some say a little parcel of food too. So this is why in traditional Christmas stockings we today have a little bag of gold covered chocolate money and a couple of pieces of fruit!
Santa Claus is not dead it is your parents that make sure you are asleep on Christmas eve and then they go downstairs and put all your presents out....Santa Claus is a saint, his name is Saint Nicholas. He is the spirit of giving. He is still alive and well.

Santa puts the presents under the christmas tree
French children used to put their shoes by the chimney, or under the Christmas tree, for the Père Noël (Santa Claus) to fill them with presents.
saint nick delivered presents to these kids and didn't put his name on it, so they thought they should call him santa claus.
Santa enters houses through chimneys, as he is able to magically shrink in size to fit through them. He then places the presents under the Christmas tree or in stockings hung by the fireplace for the children to find in the morning.
In Australia, Santa is best known as Santa Claus, and less commonly referred to as "Father Christmas" and "Saint Nick." He will come while children are sleeping and will put presents under the tree. Usually, people will leave a glass of milk along with cookies, and sometimes carrots for the reindeer.
You put it up to honor Jesus, for Santa clause to put presents under, and to remind you of Christmas!

Every mom and dad are Santa's helpers. If Santa gets busy (which he is!), he'll drop off presents so parents can arrange them under the tree. But still...he tries to be so secretive in his comings and goings!
