The best that I can do is say that all Winchester model ranger shotguns(of which yours is one) were made from 1983 onward.Most of these shotguns serial numbers were not kept in the records of Winchester as to the serial number and year of manufacture.

winchester did not keep records of the serial numbers by year of manufacture for the 200 series of rifles in which yours belongs.I can say that the model 290 was made from 1963-1976.
Go to Proofhouse.com and look at the Winchester sn data. No Proofhouse does not give serial info on the Model 1200 only the dates of manufacture from 1964 to at least 1984
