Your Western field model 47c was made for Montgomery Wards(Western field) by the Mossberg firearms company.The Mossberg model 45A is the same firearm that you own.Mossberg made the model 45A from 1937-1938.They were chambered in 22 short,long,and long rifle caliber.
Would need the model number. S-L-LR simply pertains to how the rifle is chambered. There is a model number on that gun somewhere.

Your rifle which was a Mossberg model 320 which was made for Montgomery Wards(Western Field) was made from 1960-1980.Any firearm made prior to 1969 did not require a serial number by law.That may be the reason you cannot find one.
Several companies made firearms for Montgomery Wards under the Western Field name (also for Sears, Western Auto, JC Penney, etc etc) Without the markings on your rifle to indicate WHICH model, there is no way for us to make an educated guess. Closely examine the barrel and the receiver for any markings- you may need to use a strong light- and let us know what you find. There are several cross we can use to decipher who made what- but not without that information on that is on your rifle.
Is it possibly 488a instead of 188a? That would make it a Mossberg Model 50 manufactured for Montgomery Wards.
Various other websites list this as a Western Field brand sold at Montgomery Wards but manufactured by Mossberg (hence the M in the model number). The Mossberg model number is 402

Your rifle was made by Savage for Montgomery Wards (it is a Savage Model 29 D1) These had a VERY long production life- late 1920s to about 1967. Very nice little rifles- values for a good specimen can run $200 and up.
