The Schmeisser MP 40 is a fully automatic machine pistol. In the US, a specimen that has been registered with the BATFE, and is capable of being legally transferred is worth $10,000-$14,000 roughly depending on condition. If it has not already been registered, it cannot be, and has no value. It does carry a penalty of 10 yrs in prison and a fine of not more than $250,000 for possessing one.
Because the MP 18 was outdated, and the Nazis needed a new submachine gun. So, they enlisted the help of Hugo Schmeisser, who worked to develop the MP 18. Despite what's shown in many popular World War II shooters (Call of Duty and Medal of Honor, mainly), the MP 40 was rarely assigned to infantry; instead, it was given to paratroopers, tank crews, platoon leaders, and members of the Waffen-SS. The German infantry usually ended up getting the Karabiner 98k, which was much less expensive to produce.

There are multiple ways, you can buy MP (with US dollars), or you can buy it from other players. You can also sell your mweors or items (in a shop, which you have to buy).
Technically, no. Just over 1 million MP 40's were built, while there were only 425,977 StG (MP) 44's manufactured. It should be noted, though, that the StG was more popular with infantry, while the MP 40 was mostly reserved for paratroopers, tank crews, Waffen-SS, and platoon leaders.

Yes. In fact, the British government designed the Sten's magazine after the MP 40's, and it's stick ammunition proved to be a godsend for British troops several times.
