I have a shotgun made by Baker Gun company it is sixteen (16) gauge , Model Batavia Leader, Serial Number 16812F and made in Norwich, Connecticut. I would like to know the history of this gun, (date it was made, value, etc.). I would also like to know where to purchase a stock for it. Any help would be appreciated SaltedHog
Making the assumption that you have a Baker Batavia Leader shotgun, the value can be anywhere from $100 to $2000. There are multiple grades of these shotguns, ranging from plain to ornate. With a collectable gun, condition plays a major part in pricing. You need a hands-on appraisal from someone that knows these guns.
You bet. Available with 26", 28" or 30" barrels. sales@countrygunsmith.net
There were 4 kinds of Batavias made by the Baker Gun &Forging Co in Batavia , NY. If in POOR codition about $175. If in EXCELLENT condition about $500. tops. (EXCELLENT means it is darn near LIKE-NEW, 98% or better.)

If it's new take it back, if not well that's up to the seller and you to figure out. It's not all that uncommon to buy a mismatched gun/box I've seen it numerous times and it's not a collector!
Yes. The Mossberg 500A1 is a .12 gauge shotgun.
Yes, a 12 gauge shotgun is considered a firearm.
A bolt action shotgun in 12 gauge.
I own a model 150C that my father purchased for me when I was 12 in 1964.
60-100. 100 if perfect.
There is no such shotgun gauge.
