I believe you have a Daisy Model 94. Daisy and Crosman made air rifles for Sears under the JC Higgins brand name. All of the Daisy models began with 799. My catalogue list the model 799.203 as a Daisy #94. It was made between 1955-62. The description reads: plastic stock and forearm gold paint embossed ,long horn on left side. dummy hammer on stock with leather boot. Blue paint finish. Plymouth and Rogers addresses. If this describes your rifle then it's a Daisy Model 94 Carbine.

Daisy made a model 94 Carbine from 1954 - 1962, they also made a model 111 western carbine from 1963-1978. I can find no information on a Red Ryder 1938 carbine. However the 1938 Red Ryder is still in production.
