1. try to save the life of the child.
2. To find out why you are having a miscarriage.
3. If the baby dies in hospital, you cannot be accused of hiding anything, or get charged with manslaughter or whatever (unless you have tried to procure an abortion.)
4. Both mother and child will receive better treatment.
5. It makes it official.
6. Don't forget the father - both go if you can.

I know it sounds morbid but you can also ask the doctor this when you go to the clinic to discuss your options and get the prescription. They have heard everything and don't be afraid to ask.
