So they are a bit whippy if the golfer is strong enough to swing that hard. Near the bottom of the swing, a graphite club will have a curve to it so the club snaps a bit into the ball. That must be taken into account when striking the ball. Personally though, I do not hit graphite clubs differently than steel clubs as I hit both equally as bad.
