You can't value anything with just a serial number. Who made it? What condition is it in? Is it a hand gun or a long gun?
The SERIAL NUMBER of a GIBSON Model D is stamped into the top of the frame rail, directly beside the engine mount on the left-hand side of the tractor.
I cannot asses a value unless You post the handgun model of your browning along with the serial number.
Most likely it is a Hi-Power if it is a 9mm.
475540this serial number falls into either the .32cal hand ejector series,or model 30,31.The serial number also indicates that your Smith and Wesson revolver was made between 1911-1942 which encompasses serial numbers 263,001-536,684.

On the upper right hand side of the transom, the model / serial number plate is affixed. The last two digits in this number is the year model.

If you go to singerco.com, they have a webpage that you can look up your serial number and find out what model your machine is in most cases. Some records have been lost over the years but hopefully yours will be there. Bekhat
There are 2 possibilities with the serial number provided,as long as there is not a letter before the serial number. One either a Smith and Wesson 32 hand ejector series/Model 30,31 made between 1961-1970.Or what I believe you have is a 38 special Hand Ejector Military&Police(M&P) that was made during the war years of 1940-1945.Your serial number fits into these 2 categories. So if it is chambered in 32 caliber it is the first model, and if it is chambered in 38 special, you have the second model.
Mercury Marine classifies year model by serial number range. For example, in 1973 Mercury produced the 50hp starting with serial number 3478003 and ending with serial number 7007358, thus 50hp serial number 3576839 would be a 1973 year model. Most any reputable dealer or repair facility should have these model year charts on hand. Also noted, when looking up Mercury year model, you will need to know both serial number and horsepower, other manufactorers, OMC for instance, only needs the complete model number I have a 50hp mercury motor sn# is 3576839. I can not find out the year,I needit to find parts.
