First of all go to the settings app, after that tap on General -> keyboard -> International keyboard and then tap on 'add new keyboard' and then from the end of the international keyboards selece Emoji. Once the Emoji is enabled you can access the Emoji keyboard by tapping the globe icon on the right side of the space bar.
