It's not really a matter of being "popular" or not, because you don't get to choose your birthday, and you usually only have a limited amount of say in your child's birthday.

But the trend is to have more births in the late summer and fall. likely because this falls 9 months after winter, when potential parents may be getting warmer and cozier than in the summer.

In the US in 2010 (the easiest country and year to find statistics for, in the form of them coming up at the top of the Google search results for "birth month statistics"), it appears that August had a slight edge over the other months, followed by September, July and October in that order. You'll note that these months are all in the same part of the calendar ... apparently humans are more sexually active in the winter months.
