I would purchase two 2 GB cards. That way you can take a lot of pictures, but you aren't putting all your eggs in one basket. Cards do fail. 4 GB cards are nice, but some older card readers will not recognize them. You should be able to get around 400 image files on a 2 GB card at highest resolution and fine setting.
Any 8 GB card will be great for an 8 megapixel camera that requires plenty of storage.

First off, you need to know what type of memory card your camera needs - it should tell you on the instructions. If it is a common SD card, many stores sell these. The place you purchased your camera from should have the correct card for your camera.
If you are clicking on Large Jpeg image format Mode it can take upto 600 pictures !!
