What should you do if you're really shy and want this girl to know you like her and want to ask her out soon?

Do the two of you already know each other (i.e., been introduced, work together, share a class, etc.)? I ask because if you've had previous encounters with her the chances are good that she already knows that you like her. Females learn very early in life how to read guys. If not, then you'll want to very casually, but sincerely (and BRIEFLY)introduce yourself, explain to her that something about her(your choice) compelled you to meet her. Then ask her if she has email (DON'T ask her if you can have it; there's a difference!) Females are usually more willing to give out her email address to strangers than their number. If she says yes, then give her a pen and paper (have these ready) As she's writing down the email, say to her (very off-handedly)"why don't you write your number down there as well?" (hey, she's already writing; she might as well, right?) Finally, tell her "Thank You", that it was really nice to meet her, that you will give her a call sometime (don't say when) and then LEAVE PROMPTLY. Don't try to make any more conversation at this point; there's plenty of time for that later. Now, you are going to have to work on your shyness.
