The easiest way is to call your friend's phone and see what number shows up on the display.

There are special service numbers that will automatically read back to you the number you're calling from, but they vary from telephone company to telephone company, and even from place to place with the same telco.

There are two ways to do this.

1. Use an ANAC (automatic number announcement circuit). Unfortunately, these phone numbers are regional. You're probably better off using a pseudo-ANAC number.

2. Use a regular phone number that acts like an ANAC. For example, if you call 1-800-444-4444, it will tell you your phone number.
