I have a Sako L579 Forrester 243 Rifle also but mine has a American Silver Dollar imprinted into the stock which I thought was kind of odd for a Polish made gun. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.ON GUNBROKER.COM THEY HAVE A L579 FORESTER WITH S/N 78750 DATED 1968 AND ALSO ONE WITH S/N 10599 DATED 1960 .THAT SHOULD GIVE YOU A PRETTY CLOSE IDEA I'M GUESSING 1967 OR 1968.AND I BELIEVE THEY ARE MADE IN FINLAND

100-400 as described.
The value is US Dollars DOES depend heavily upon the condition of the rifle's bore and walnut stock. In very good/excellent condition, a .243 Winchester (caliber) Sako Forester will bring $800.00 and up (August 2009). In just "good" condition and less, the rifle will be in the $400. to $600. range from a private party with the scope rings. The present "firearms hoarding syndrome" may cause the price to increase further.
100-1000 USD depending on condition.
