Value of a Smith and Wesson 22A1?

Should you shoot lead bullets in your s and w model 22a1?

I do not see why not?I have been shooting lead bullets out of all my handguns for years. As a matter of fact I have never shot anything but cast bullets from my 2 .38 special handguns,A colt police positive 4in.that was my grandfathers, and a fine Smith and Wesson model 12,4in.Both love a 158gr.semi wadcutter behind 4.0grs of tight group powder.I have also been shooting a 240gr semi wadcutter in my smith and Wesson model 21-4.This is in .44 special. The key is not to puch your lead bullets to fast unless they are of a Gas check design. Then the speed of your lead bullets does not matter. As a rule I do not puch a plain base cast bullet faster than 850fps.A gas check design can be pushed as fast as 1400fps if you so desire.
