The a/f is probably the mark of August Francotte, a Belgian manufacturer of fine shotguns. Can't tell you if it's safe to use. A gunsmith would have to examine it before I would use it. It probably has 2 1/2" or 2 9/16" chambers, and if so, modern 2 3/4" shells may go in but will not be able to open properly. Probably won't blow up in your face if you use them, at least not right away, but continued use will result in serious problems.
