The Excel trade name was used by Iver Johnson on single shot shotguns sold by Montgomery Ward c 1900 - 1950. Value depends on condition, but old singles seem to bring $50-$75 if they are fully functional. What do you mean by "what did it look like new?"? If it isn't broken or missing pieces, it looked like it does now except without the dents, dings, and scratches.
