I have a Winchester 1917 serial 260###. I have taken the rifle to several shops and asked the value. It seem that the Winchester not a Remington is worth more. Mine is in excellent shape except for the front wooden part which was cut off by some idiot before I owned it. The values are from $400-$700.

Google 1917 eddystone, then find the link for us military rifles then type in your serial number you can get the month and year of manufacture of the rifle action. it should be July 1918 for the serial number you provided. don't know much about price. hope this help a little
Several makers have made .17 centerfire rifles. In addition to a number of "wildcat" cartridges, the Remington .17 CF was placed in production over 30 years ago.
