That would be a model 12-C, made in 1928. The values is greatly dependent on condition, condition, condition. If it's just a well used shooter 200, if it's like new in the box 1,200 or more. Until you hit the excellent condition you haven't passed the 600 value it's exponential from that point based on how close to like new it is.

I too have a rifle matching this description. Any information would be of interest.
I received a similar rifle from my grandfather. He had a letter from Remington stating the rifle was manufactured between 1900 - 1907, if I remember correctly.
None of them say. 22 short, long, or long rifle round barrel 12-A octagon barrel 12-C 22 short (octagon) 12-B 22 Remington Special (octagon) 12-CS
The Remington model 4 rolling block rifle was made between 1890-1933.If you have a model 4S military rifle, then these were made by Remington from 1913-1923.your rifle has either a 22.5in barrel,or a 24in barrel. These were chambered in .22,.25 Stevens,or 32 caliber.
is about 3,695
Could be a lot of things, is this a pump, rolling block (single shot), need more details, barrel length, take down, etc.... Also it's often referred to as Octagon but it's not it's Hexagon, off hand I can think of no manufacturer that ever made a Octagon barrel.
In this model of Winchester rifle, there is no difference in value between the round or octagon barrel.
Remington made neither a shotgun or rifle model 1890, sounds like you are might be talking about a model 12-C or 12-CS pump rifle. Until it's identified correctly and a GOOD description of it's condition, valuation is impossible.
