Your rifle is POSSIBLY a Savage. There were "store brand" guns made for a particular store by many gun makers, but marked with the name of that store. The Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett and Co. of Chicago were sporting goods dealers from 1855 to the 1960's. Sometime after 1900, Mr. Conover became an officer of the company, and his name- spelled backwards- was used on some of the merchandise. Value of your rifle will depend on condition, and likely be somewhere between $50-$125.
