It was made by the Baker Gun & Forging Co in Batavia NY. They are generally known for their double shotguns, but they did offer this little semiauto rifle from c.1901 through c.1918. The company was sold to H&D Folsom in 1919. www.countrygunsmith.net
There were BATAVIA SPECIAL shotguns, BATAVIA LEADER, etc, made with both steel and damascus barrels. Condition is key, but $300-$400 is realistic. The serial number is 93269.It was bought in 1960.Batavia NY is stamped on it.

The Nitro-Hunter was made by the Baker Gun & Forge of Batavia, New York. It uses a modified receiver that was originaly made under a contract with Febiger Arms Company of New Orleans. These were made for sale by the Belknap Hardware company. Depending on condition, around $150 or so.

I have a shotgun made by Baker Gun company it is sixteen (16) gauge , Model Batavia Leader, Serial Number 16812F and made in Norwich, Connecticut. I would like to know the history of this gun, (date it was made, value, etc.). I would also like to know where to purchase a stock for it. Any help would be appreciated SaltedHog
