AS it is a wartime rifle it may command slightly higher price that a post 45 model. Is it a mark III SMLE or is it a No4? The Mk III has a snub end to the barrel and the No4 about an inch of barrel stuck out. Mk IIIs are worth between £125 and 500 depending in the condition of the barrel . I had one with a barrel so bad I could only sell it for deactivation and got £125. A really good unused 1943 can go for 500 but its rare to find one unused of that year. Normally a No4 with a good bore and the sighting not buggered about with to fit a civvy scope, will command 250 -350

Do a search for the Lee Enfield rifle shooting association. Great open pages on their site and you don't have to be a member
