They didn't start making them until 1919 (not 1916) the value is determined by condition.
Remington model 24 valueI just bought one myself at a gun auction for $55. The thing with the model 24 is that they made several grades and you must also determine the condition. I believe about 140,000 were produced. The short answer is it is only worth what the market will bring. You could try to run it on a gun auction with a high reserve to see how much it will bring. Maybe a large gun dealer could grade the condition for you and look in his books to find a value....Good Luck....$500-$600

Which model, what condition?
Remington did not make a carbine in .44 Magnum caliber. They did chamber the Model 788 rifle in that caliber. Do you have a Ruger carbine in .44 Remington Magnum, or perhaps a Marlin in that caliber? sales@countrygunsmith.net
Depending on condition 300-700
Would need more info on the rifle, caliber, model, condition and images would be nice
