There is the Administrator account that is used by computer technicians to perform work on the machine and that is an account that is normally not used, so maybe it is to that which you are referring. The most common way to log into that account is by starting up in Safe Mode. Under normal mode, the account is generally "disabled" for regular login purposes.
As for any sort of backdoor password that exists for technicians to use, that is not the case. There are a couple of things that technicians can do if the Windows password is not know to the technician and he needs to get into the OS so as to fix a problem or see what may be causing an error. First, he can use a program that either resets or removes the Windows password from the computer. There are many of these available and I use it to great advantage as it accomplishes the task for me in a matter of seconds so that I can get on with the work I have been requested to perform. Second, the technician can boot up in Safe Mode, log into the Administrator account (which usually has no password on it) and then create a new user account for himself to use while he is working on the machine which allows him to have a normal mode "Computer Administrator" account just like what the normal user account is and allow him to do the work that he would normally do under the user's account. I have done this on occasion as well when I have forgotten to take the password removal tool with me to the client's location.
I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to let me know.
