its a Remington model shotgun(semi auto)
500 dollars
Id say a good $200-$300
The 878 was discontinued in 1962
The Mohawk is a 11-48 variant so 1949-1968, serial should be 5,000,000 + unless it's a 410 or 28 then it's 4,000,000+ so these don't overlap with the regular 48
Hi, i have a remnigton 12 gauge semi automatic mohawk 48 and i think they were only made for 4 years in the early 60s or early 70s. As far as price i have heard of people buying them right around 200 dollars. Im really not to sure about the 20 gauge you might want to take it to gun appraiser.
i just bought 1 a few months ago off of gunbroker.com for 350.00. it was in very good shape.
They are date code stamped on the barrel on left side in front of receiver. A barrel location diagram and the date code table (month/year) is available on the Remington Society of America.
I think you mean the model 48, no 40 I've ever heard of, and in typical lack of creativity for models in 1948.
50-200
11 - 48 slug barrel
your Remington 48 is worth $500.00 or more
